What is the Apprentice Levy?

The Apprenticeship Levy was introduced in April 2017 and affects all eligible UK employers.

The main objective of this scheme is to aid the Government’s commitment to boost productivity by investing in human capital and developing vocational skills. The government committed to an additional 3 million apprenticeship starts in England by 2020.

Like Employers NI, the Apprenticeship levy is included in the assignment rate previously agreed between you and your agency. It is therefore deducted as an employer cost. This will also be shown as part of the employer deductions on your payslip.
